Not sure if it's possible to be implemented, but if one of the goals is for the devs to track setup exploitation / track lines, they could work on the code so not only the laptime (and its sector times) is uploaded, but also car setup used and maybe a 'ghost', so they could have a look at the fastest times to see how they were achieved.

The hot lap events can be quite useful to us for developing the physics. We get to see what works in setups, apply ideas to the default, look for exploits or settings that don't match up with real world ranges, etc. So they aren't purely a ¿Quien Es Mas Macho? addition at this stage of the game's progress. Forcing a single setup on everyone, however, would make it that way.

I know i keep banging on about this, but did you notice that the FA gear ratios in Pcars are much longer than real life?

Yeah, good point. No reason not to open up the tuning ranges for gearing on this car, so that's done in CL 213961. Defaults unchanged.
