That's the spirit! I have highs and lows money wise but will shake loose of some of it for what I feel is a good cause regardless of my situation if it works within my budget and surplus.

I will not quote all, but all what you wrote and found out, very good.

EDIT: The biggest risk I see is that SMS doesn't get enough funding for the game and has to ditch it. However, even this is highly unlikely. The core guys at SMS aren't exactly what I'd call poor. They could easily fund the game themselves. They know what a massive killing they could do and get huge profits. However, I suspect that pCars is only the precursor to a much bigger plan.
It's always nice when a reference to me is not followed by "is a huge detriment to the success of pCARS" (said far less politely). But ya, I was not kidding.. back in.. what.. July of 2011, when I promised to shovel as much money at Ian as I could. It's not just free money - it's a LOT of free money when you look at how the returns scale by your NotInvestment (or investment as applicable). It's not unthinkable that I could make a cool half million USD when all is said and done. Heck, a doubling of return would be awesome when you consider how difficult it is to make money these days unless you're already super rich. I wouldn't be upset with just getting my original seed money back, figuring I'll at least have a really good racing sim to enjoy for a long time to come. I'm the type that hopes for ridiculously good outcomes, but doesn't despair when they don't pan out.

I've said many times (and here again) that it's still remarkable to have this opportunity. It just doesn't happen in the mainstream gaming world, though that is starting to change with the WMD concept as well as kickstarter. You just don't see it happen with triple A titles, which minecraft is not despite selling a ton.

There are a lot of factors involved, but basically you're putting money behind individuals, not in anything tangible really. I hadn't seen pCARS, or even had an active account on the forums here before I sent Ian the first batch of money. To be successful requires being able to judge people without a whole lot of information. I'm good at it. I may have a lot of negative attributes, but judging character and ability is not one of them. It always starts at the top and is reflected by everyone else they associate with. It's similar to the way Gabe Newell builds his team. I've used that analogy a few times, but I think it's true. If I had a chance to put money behind Gabe way back when, I'd have done it instantly.

Well.. that was a rambling mess. I haven't written one of those in a while. So ya.. forget about pCARS. Realize that what you're putting your money on is the employees and contractors with SMS.. which are a direct result of Ian and Andy... and I don't mind being called a fan-boi, or anything else the Horde wants to call me. As Barretta said.. I'm taking dat to da bank.

Oh.. and do be thinking about "much bigger plans" and how you can be involved. So funny you said that..

    Indeed.

For the record, this is the very first time in my life I have actually acted upon my "gut instinct". I've had these strong instincts many times before but for some stupid reason I never acted upon them.. in hind sight, I should have. Every. Single. Time.

Granted, I haven't gone "all in" as I probably should have.. and I will definitely regret it once pCars sells it's 10th million copy. I've gone "all in.. safe" at this point.

I plan to follow SMS's venture very closely. For a long time to come.

    Cheers!

Oh ya.. I'm not advocating anyone go crazy. That's never a good financial move, and the 'never invest what you can't afford to lose' applies in every situation, regardless how promising it looks. It's especially true for people that are just getting started in making investments. One step at a time, and take a long view..

Too be honest this is the first time ive had a bit of disposable income in my life, im still a young guy, and cleared student loan now and all is good.

But my point is...i dont have a huge amount of assets, but the minute i heard about this i was sold. I do think sometimes it was a bit crazy...but this cant go wrong, it simply cant.

And at the minute im looking at my return of contribution to form part of a future investment if Ian and Co. decide to do another project on here, and we can take part again, then the money they give back to me, will go straight back to them, obviously im hoping that my contribution will be far bigger next time, and Senior Manager i am looking at you!
I would like to think that a lot of wealthy people will be made out of this process, and you never know we will all see each other again on a future project. I would be first to put my hand in and hand over my cash.

One more thing, following on what bmanic and Micas said, if, I mean when Ferrari Legends makes a big swoop on the market, they are going to want more and more, and this is when Pcars steps in. So the bigger that has of success, the better for us.

    @ bmanic and Micas:

Hehe, you guys remind me of my self when i get a good idea and go nuts in my mind. The ambitions spirals out of control and I'm ending up as ruler of the world with cash raining down on me...
The "problem" here is that I can't find any convincing counter argument! I agree, this looks like a suspicious good plan/idea! And I'm not just thinking of pCars but the whole concept. The music business has Spotify, TV has Netflix, game distribution has Steam and now(soon) game development has WMD.

And I must say, you guys are one of the best marketing tools SMS have, I hope they appreciate that. Simply inspiring!
