I think I'd have used: "Gentlemen, Start you Engines"

In sentences likie "come one boys", "boys" is sexless, it doesn't mean "young male person", but it means more or less "everyone". :)

I see that some people in here aren't following NASCAR ;)

"Let's go racing boys" is a phrase made popular by NASCAR legend & tv commentator Darrell Waltrip.

I simply wanted to go for a stock car-themed headline.

Again this gender subject....starts to become scary.

Again this gender topic....starts to be scary.

For what its worth, in the races that involved Danica Patrick DW has been saying "Let's go racing girl and boys" (or the other way around, not sure right now) ;)

Thats why the say now "drivers (instead of gentlemen) start your engine"

Sorry, I corrected topic to subject since I didn´t mean the topic of the thread but an ongoing discussion about gender correctness.

Your Not A Fan of Ole DW? I liked him because of his bout's with Dale Sr.

I dislike D.W, but mostly because I dislike commentators with personal ties into the sport they are commentating on. Colour is good, but D.W is a play by play in a sport where he has drivers he's either raced against, own, his brother owns, his brother is racing against, or any number of other things. Its hard to listen to a play by play commentator that can't often be objectionable. Thats not the point of this thread though.

I will say D.W and I, like our shuffles and our chrome though.

Going to try the stocker shortly XD So exciting!

Hello,

Coming from someone who only follows the Oval side of things, the title was fine.

Regards,

To be honest not a huge NASCAR fan, couldn't tell you the last time I watched a race.

I was thinking more of the Jeff Foxworthy: "If you think the last four words of the National Anthem are 'Gentlemen, start your engines!', You might be a Redneck..."

That being said, the Stock car is a freakin blast I can't wait for a oval

I gave up on it because I feel the credibility of the series is shot when Rick Hendrick's best friend (Middlebrook) is allowed to make decisions on penalties against one of his teams.
